We should not expect that children who are victims of violence in an armed conflict will be able to recover on their own.<\/em>\u201d <br>(UN Secretary-General&#8217;s Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Virginia_Gamba_(UN_official)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Virginia Gamba<\/a>)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The program,&nbsp; <em>Children of Ukraine <\/em>&#8211; embodies specific steps of the UN program: &#8220;Act to Protect Children&#8221;,&nbsp; and aims to reconnect and reintegrate traumatized families back to a sense of home and security with the rest of Ukraine by creating stabilizing conditions and support via psycho-social services\u2014as the constitutional rights and territorial integrity of Ukraine are regained in the east.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Foundation&#8217;s partners from the Institute of Social and Political Psychology of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine have developed and approved the following programs for the psychological support of children and families forcibly displaced by war:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Three programs designed to help children and adolescents of different age groups: Children ages 9-12, 13-15 and 16-17 years old;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Two programs for adults:&nbsp; One program supports adults that have been forcibly displaced by war; while the second program provides additional training as well as a support system for the staff members themselves (teachers, psychologists and social workers)\u2014 as they work with a highly vulnerable population.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our program also&nbsp; assists with career guidance, work opportunities, leadership programs and the reintegration of displaced Ukrainian citizens who have survived through the past several years of Russian government backed occupation, armed conflict and information warfare.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We will be combining our efforts with the <em>Anna Freud National Centre for Children &amp; Families, UK,<\/em> (<em>AFNCCF<\/em>) a world-leading authority on childhood trauma.&nbsp; They will contribute invaluable expertise for the training and supervision of specific <em>Teaching and Recovery Techniques as well as <\/em>group and individual interventions based on <em>Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy<\/em>.&nbsp; These interventions will also be complemented by life skills education.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With the help and guidance of the Foundation and <em>Children of Ukraine,<\/em> individuals and families impacted by the conflict will receive a semblance of normalcy through consistent\u00a0 psychosocial support, and opportunities for personal and professional growth in Donbass as it returns to its rightful place in a reunited Ukraine.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":1732,"template":"","class_list":["post-1776","projects","type-projects","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.9 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>Provides psychosocial support for children and families affected by hostilities in East Ukraine as well as for migrants from Russian occupied Crimea - Bogdan Gubsky Foundation \u201cUkraine - 21st Century\u201d<\/title>\n<meta name=\"robots\" content=\"index, follow, max-snippet:-1, max-image-preview:large, max-video-preview:-1\" \/>\n<link rel=\"canonical\" href=\"https:\/\/ukraine-21century.com\/en\/projects\/international-partnership-initiative-for-psychological-rehabilitation-and-reintegration-of-children-affected-by-armed-conflict-in-east-of-ukraine\/\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:locale\" content=\"en_US\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:type\" content=\"article\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:title\" content=\"Provides psychosocial support for children and families affected by hostilities in East Ukraine as well as for migrants from Russian occupied Crimea - Bogdan Gubsky Foundation \u201cUkraine - 21st Century\u201d\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:description\" content=\"In 2019, the Foundation launched the international program, Children of Ukraine,&nbsp; which aims to coordinate the joint efforts of Ukrainian and international partners to develop and implement support services for those traumatized by the armed conflict.&nbsp; &#8220;Any war is a war against children.
