A unique 19th-century tea set of 26 items made at the Kuznetsov Porcelain Factory <\/em> in the village of Buda, was donated to the <\/strong>Kaniv Decorative Art Museum<\/em><\/strong><\/a> <\/em>by the Foundation in April 2012.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Kaniv Decorative Art Museum<\/em> received a valuable gift from Bogdan Gubsky for its 40th anniversary: a rare porcelain tea set of 26 items. The tea-set was produced sometime between 1894-1898 at the Kuznetsov Factory,<\/em> in the village of Buda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1887, Matviy Kuznetsov founded a factory for the production of faience crockery and porcelain  near Kharkiv. The factory produced 1,000  utensils worth 500,000 rubles annually, including porcelain worth  200,000 rubles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The crockery was widely sold in Ukraine and southern Russia. From the beginning of the 20th century, the products of the Kuznetsov Factory <\/em>were exported to the Gulf countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is difficult to assess the historical value of the tea set donated to the museum as this particular set is unique in that it is the only one that has survived.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
