{"id":735,"date":"2021-06-08T18:45:20","date_gmt":"2021-06-08T15:45:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ukraine-21century.com\/?post_type=projects&#038;p=735"},"modified":"2021-06-19T15:39:41","modified_gmt":"2021-06-19T12:39:41","slug":"international-vernadsky-prize","status":"publish","type":"projects","link":"https:\/\/ukraine-21century.com\/en\/projects\/international-vernadsky-prize\/","title":{"rendered":"International Vernadsky Prize"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>In order to celebrate the high personal accomplishments of scientists, artists, educators, economists and their intellectual contribution to the social, economic and cultural development of Ukraine, the Foundation established the <\/strong><strong><em>Vernadsky Prize<\/em><\/strong><strong> in 2000. A year later, the award became international, and the Foundation decided to award lifetime stipends.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>In November 2000, the first celebration of the winners of <em>Vernadsky Prize<\/em> was held. There were 24 laureates, including academicians of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Borys Paton, Mykola Amosov, Oleksandr Vozianov, Ivan Dzyuba, Viktor Skopenko, Ukrainian celebrated artists Bogodar Kotorovych, Nina Matvienko, Kira Muratova, Igor Poklad, agrarian Dmytro Motornyi, physicist Vasyl Nazarenko, teachers Lyubov Plokhii and Tamara Shyrko.<\/li><li>In 2001, 23 persons, including citizens of other countries, became prize winners. Consequently, the award has become international.<\/li><li>In 2003, there were 15 winners of&nbsp; <em>Vernadsky Prize.<\/em><\/li><li>In 2004, 13 worthy people were awarded.<\/li><li>In 2005 (on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the Foundation) 11 persons were awarded <em>Vernadsky Prize<\/em>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Within 5 years, 53 people, including 5 citizens of other countries, have become award holders.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The international laureates of the Foundation award include:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/uk.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/%D0%9A%D0%B0%D1%87%D1%83%D1%80%D0%BE%D0%B2%D1%81%D1%8C%D0%BA%D0%B8%D0%B9_%D0%86%D0%B3%D0%BE%D1%80_%D0%92%D0%B0%D1%81%D0%B8%D0%BB%D1%8C%D0%BE%D0%B2%D0%B8%D1%87\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Igor Vasyliovych Kachurovskyi<em>y<\/em><\/a><em>, <\/em>Ukrainian poet, translator, novelist, literary critic, teacher, radio journalist;<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/uk.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/%D0%A0%D1%83%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BD%D0%BA%D0%BE-%D0%94%D0%B5%D1%81%D0%BD%D1%8F%D0%BA_%D0%9E%D0%BB%D0%B5%D0%BA%D1%81%D0%B0%D0%BD%D0%B4%D1%80_%D0%9E%D0%BB%D0%B5%D0%BA%D1%81%D1%96%D0%B9%D0%BE%D0%B2%D0%B8%D1%87\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Oleksandr Oleksiiovych Rudenko-Desnyak<\/a><em>, <\/em>Chairman of the Association of Ukrainians of Russia, writer, translator, journalist, film critic, public figure;<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/uk.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/%D0%A0%D0%BE%D0%BC%D0%B0%D0%BD_%D0%A8%D0%BF%D0%BE%D1%80%D0%BB%D1%8E%D0%BA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Roman Vasyliovych Shporliuk<\/a>, Director of the Ukrainian Research Institute at Harvard University,\u00a0 USA;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2001, the Foundation introduced<em> <\/em>stipends for outstanding figures of science, culture, writing, and education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">23 persons became fellows of the Foundation: the founder of the national cybernetics Kateryna Yushchenko, the archaeologist Mykhailo Braichevskyi, the academicians of the National Academy of Sciences: a radiobiologist Dmytro Grodzynskyi and a chemist Vitalii Pokhodenko, the film actor Mykhailo Olyalin, the singer Yevgenia Miroshnychenko, the literary critic and publicist Yurii Badzyo, the ethnographer Lidiia Orel,&nbsp;
